History

In the years 1994-1995 the ensemble recorded the first CD "ORA IMPRECISA", which was released in 1996 on the label yvp.

The renowned American saxophone player Steve Lacy commented on the CD: "I like the CD very much, an excellent mixture of timbres and strong musical personalities. Keep up the good work!"“

In the year 1999 TAKABANDA received the studio award of the Berlin Senate Department for Science, Research and Culture in the field of jazz/new music.

In October 2000 the musicians of TAKABANDA hosted the tree-day international jazz/world music festival "TRANSGLOBAL COLUNTERBLAST".

In the years 1999-2000 the band recorded its second CD "La Leggenda del Pescatore", which was released in June 2001 at "Jazz4ever".

In 2002 the band was invited to the International Jazz Festival in Rome to present the contemporary Berlin jazz scene.
