TAKABANDA is one of the most important international jazz groups from Berlin.
The particularity of this ensemble lies in its nearly folkloristic understanding of jazz, thus conveying the rhythm and sound of the jazz city Berlin.

Italian drummer Paolo Eleodori has been working at the Takabanda project, originally founded as a quartet, since 14 years now. Own compositions of the band members, characterized by European and mediterranean musical traditions, determine the group's concept. In this context the band is focussing on musical freedom and exciting atmospheres.

Of particular importance to the musical inspiration of the band is the cultural diversity of Berlin, in other words: without this town the music of Takabanda would not be possible in this particular way. Takabanda is playing with the imaginary folklore of contemporary Berlin.
